Last night I had an epiphany.
All in one moment I realized
How hard this is going to be
At times
And how much I love you
All the time.  

Last night we had a misunderstanding.
In an instant you’d torn me in two
And I didn’t know
What I’d done.
I wanted to be angry
But couldn’t.

Last night we explained ourselves.
For a long time you held me
Until I understood you
And you, me.
I wanted to cry
But didn’t.

Last night you opened the window.
There was wind in the trees
And it’s peacefulness was
Like hope. 
You whispered you loved me
All the time.
